Shane Williams

Shane Williams born 26th February 1977 played for Wales at international level gaining 87 caps in the process and scoring 290points. He also played club rugby at Neath getting 81 appearences and 223points. He also played most of his club career for the Ospreys playing for them 141 times and scoring 293 points.

There are 3 reasons for why Shane Williams is one of my top 5 favourite rugby players: a) His pace b) the ability to chage the angle of running and tear defences apart and c) He wasn't the biggest rugby player standing at only 5ft 7, yet he feared nobody and took on the biggest. Shane recently retired from professional rugby to spend more time with his family. The thing I admired the most about him was, he was always just himself. fame never made him big-headed as he still spent his social time in his home town of Glanaman in the welsh amnam valleys.

Williams  played as a Winger the position I play at, and I  was always in awe at his ability to beat opposition with a quick sidestep or just sheer speed.

Williams doged tenacity and flair is why he has earned a spot in my top 5 rugby players of all time.

Here is also a link just to show you exactly what Williams could do to his opposition.
